The patterns can also include animals, and these carpets can be extremely expensive to purchase. Antique carpets are of amazingly good quality, and generally are available in sizes of 4 x 6 and 6 x 8.

These rugs are created using rich colors such as red, ivory, and navy blue, and have been in creation for over 2500 years.
Shiraz carpets are hand knotted in the central Iranian town of Shiraz. They come with various designs including geometric shapes, plants, and animals. The most prevalent color used is red. Wiss rugs are hand woven by tribesmen in Wiss, another village in Iran. The key motifs used with Wiss rugs are flowers, plants, garden objects, and wines.
